W. Brian Cornwell

Mr. Cornwell was born in Savannah, GA and raised in Effingham County, GA. He earned a BS in Political Science from the University of West Georgia and his Juris Doctor from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. While at Cumberland, Mr. Cornwell was named to the Dean’s List. After practicing for several years in South Carolina, Mr. Cornwell returned home to Savannah and worked several years with another local personal injury firm. Mr. Cornwell founded the firm in 2017 and handles matters throughout the states of Georgia and South Carolina.

Mr. Cornwell concentrates his practice on the representation of clients who have received injuries through the negligence of others as well as property owners who have been damaged because of negligent and faulty construction.
Mr. Cornwell was the lead attorney in the seminal case of Jane Doe vs. USA Gymnastics. Mr. Cornwell represented a former gymnast who was sexually assaulted by a USA Gymnastics member coach. The case garnered national and international attention and has been featured in the USA Today, IndyStar, and Washington Post. The case was the catalyst for the investigation into USA Gymnastics and led to the revelations of sexual abuse by the national team doctor Larry Nassar. Mr. Cornwell has represented Nassar victims in Michigan and other athletes throughout the country in their claims for abuse by coaches. Mr. Cornwell has also lectured on the topic of sexual abuse in youth-serving organizations.

As a former insurance defense lawyer, Mr. Cornwell is well-versed in how insurance companies adjust claims and uses this experience for the benefit of his clients.

Mr. Cornwell also has extensive experience in multi-party complex litigation and has represented individuals, governmental entities, universities, and both large and small corporations. As the son of a general contractor, Mr. Cornwell has extensive practical experience in the construction industry and was co-counsel for Virginia Newman in one of the leading construction insurance coverage decisions in South Carolina Auto Owners vs. Newman.

Mr. Cornwell is admitted to practice before all state courts in South Carolina and Georgia along with the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the Southern District of Georgia. Mr. Cornwell is also a past member of the City of Pooler’s Planning Commission. In his spare time, Mr. Cornwell enjoys traveling with his family, watching his daughters play sports, and is an avid golfer.

Benjamin C. Davidson

Benjamin C. Davidson was born in Rome, Georgia, and earned a B.B.A. in Business Management from the University of Georgia and his Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law. While at Mercer University School of Law, Mr. Davidson was named to the Dean’s list and graduated with Cum Laude honors.

After graduating from law school, he served as a judicial clerk for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia in Macon, GA. Prior to joining The Cornwell Firm, Mr. Davidson practiced for several years with a local Savannah, GA insurance defense firm where his work concentrated on the defense of personal injury claims.

Mr. Davidson concentrates his practice on the representation of clients who have received injuries through the negligence of others. As a former insurance defense lawyer, Mr. Davidson is knowledgeable about defending against personal injury claims, and this experience will be invaluable in the representation of his clients. His experience in the litigation and discovery process underscores his understanding of how insurers defend claims. Additionally, Mr. Davidson is well informed regarding a variety of factors that may impact the value of a personal injury claim and uses this experience for the benefit of his clients.

Mr. Davidson is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Savannah Bar Association, and Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Also, Mr. Davidson serves as Vice President on the board of the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association and was elected by his peers in 2021 as a member at large for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Davidson was the recipient of the Pro Bono Advocacy Award presented by Georgia Legal Services Program in 2023, and he was selected by Georgia Trial Lawyers Association for its LEAD class in 2024. Additionally, The National Trial Lawyers selected Mr. Davidson as a Top 40 under 40 Civil Plaintiff Lawyer in 2024. In his spare time, Mr. Davidson enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing, golf, and spending time with family.

Amy E. Volz

Ms. Volz is a dedicated personal injury attorney with a diverse background. She grew up in the Seattle area of Washington state and spent several years in the Cincinnati area before moving to Georgia. She and her family now live in Pooler and are enjoying all the Coastal Empire has to offer.

Ms. Volz earned a BA in education from Wilmington College followed by a master’s degree in library and information science from Kent State University. She worked as a librarian for several years before her passion for learning and helping others led her to law school. Ms. Volz graduated cum laude from the University of Cincinnati School of Law where she was involved in several of the school’s publications, clubs, and clinics.

Ms. Volz began her career advocating for clients seeking workers’ compensation under the Defense Base Act. She brings a unique perspective to her work as a personal injury attorney, blending her legal expertise with her empathetic approach to client care.

Ms. Volz is committed to guiding her clients through the often complex and stressful legal process with clarity and compassion. She understands the challenges her clients face and works diligently to secure the best possible outcomes.

Ms. Volz is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Savannah Trial Lawyers Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the South Carolina Association for Justice.

In her spare time, Ms. Volz enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports, reading, cooking, and working in the garden.
